WEMYSS BAY, is named after an old 18th century fisherman and bay inhabitant, Robert Wemyss. However, Wemyss derives from the Scottish Gaelic 'uaimh' meaning cave. The full Gaelic name is 'Bagh na h-Uaime' meaning, Bay of the Cave.
I visited this place alone on 1/02/2024. This was planned random. Planned at 2pm and got into the Paisley Gilmour station and took scotrail to wemyss bay station at 3pm. I reached the station around 4 pm. I walked for 10min from the station and on the way I met an old lady with a dog. we had a small chit chat and I took a cute picture with the dog. She spoke to me for few minutes about the place and told me that I am looking pretty and take care of myself with safe travel around. she told me that sometimes its better to travel alone and it help us to feel better in many ways. And she also said that she will look for me around hoping to see again.they we walked past and I started to walk to the beach. It was damn windy and cold, but it was looking beautiful.Seeing the beach in cold weather was a different experience. There were just two or three people around with their dogs.i was all alone after a point. I had a nice time enjoying myself taking number of pictures.Around 5.30 pm it was getting dark and I had to rush because I was freezing.Couldnt stay anymore because my hands were numb and it stated hurting me.Then I walked back to the station and got into my place happily.
